JQY (Jewish Queer Youth) is dedicated to supporting and empowering LGBTQ youth within the Jewish community. Focused on teens and young adults from Orthodox, Chasidic, and Sephardi/Mizrahi backgrounds, JQY strives to ensure the emotional and physical well-being of these individuals. The organization's mission is to affirm that every individual is a valued member of the Jewish community and is not alone.

The app provides spaces for parents and siblings of JQY participants, as well as a platform for mental health professionals to connect.

NAVIGATING APP ANONYMITY

• Who can see my profile?
  • Once you join the app, your profile becomes searchable to all other app users. Your chosen name, profile picture (if provided), and pronouns (if specified) are visible to all users. If privacy is a concern, consider using a different chosen name for your profile.
  • Your real name under "Name for JQY internal use" and other personal information are only visible to you and JQY staff.
• Who can see my information? (i.e. name, email, dob, zipcode, etc)
  • Your "Name for JQY internal use," email address, birthday, zipcode, reasons for joining the app, and comments for JQY are visible only to you and JQY staff. It's encouraged to provide accurate details in this section to facilitate communication and support from JQY.
  • Further details about visibility of likes, comments, and posts can be found in the app or on our social media channels (Instagram: @jewishqueeryouth, Facebook: @JQYouth).
